Three bowls with three very different personalities- Athos, Porthos & Aramis. The handbuilding process used to make these bowls imparts elements of randomness and unpredictability to their contoured edges and organic textures that define their exterior surfaces. In direct contrast is the controlled pattern on the interior surfaces which seeks to impart a degree of order and create an interesting interplay between randomness and control.
Continuing on this theme of contrast, the natural stoneware finish of the exterior surfaces is in counterpoint to the glazed and reflective finish of the interior surfaces.
Athos- vibrant & mysterious, hiding secret depths never completely revealed.
Porthos- flamboyant & colourful, full of Joie de vivre.
Aramis- pious & loyal, often amorous but ultimately pure.
These bowls owe their continuing existence to the wonderful production experts, Karishma and Afroz from Claystation.
