Travel is, in my opinion, one of the greatest sources of inspiration for creative endeavour. On my trip to Siem Reap in Cambodia, earlier this year, I came across shadow boxes full of the most exotic, colourful & strange insects I had ever seen. The forms, the colours and the textures seem to have taken root in my mind, germinated and grown into a linocut print series, the first of which is called Rhinoceros.
The artwork was planned and detailed in charcoal, on paper, and later hand cut into a sheet of linoleum. The prints were created manually on 224 GSM Canson CÀ Grain Radiant White Archival Paper using a linocut press. This limited edition run consists of 10 prints, individually numbered and signed.
